I doubt it would be covered under warranty. Wouldn't they classify it as a "wear and tear" item.
If it's just the globe that's broken wouldn't be too hard to replace it yourself. I've changed mine several times. The globe is just a D2S size nothing special, hope they don't charge you an arm and leg for it.
Changing the bulb involves removing the wheel and plastic guard (held on by like 4 clips), easier than it sounds.

I bought the dash cam that badthing listed, but got it from amazon no ebay. It was $139 shipped and landed after 3 days from Taiwan!
I've run it through the headliner and down the passenger a pillar to the 12v plug on the passenger side.
It's quite a bit wider and does block the drivers side sun visor from opening all the way, but you can still use it. It's slightly higher too so may block a bit of view, will drive it tomorrow and let you know.
The videos in the garage look good, and can be replayed on the device easily. The "parking mode" seems to work quite well, it activates with a recent nudge to the car( hopefully I'll never have to see a video from this mode).
It can be recorded in 1080p or 720p will have to do a comparison on the 2 settings. It records continuously but cuts the files into 5min chunks at ~800mb per chunk.
