  1. Mud added a post in a topic 2009 370z Reverse Camera and HDMI input

Let me know what you need to know. The whole process is very straightforward if you have ever put a head unit in a car before. Just have to splice a couple of wires.

2009 370z Reverse Camera and HDMI input
Here is some info on what I got to work with my Jul 2009 370z .
I wanted to add a reverse camera to my 2009 370z, however there is a lot of different info out there.
I read if you have 2010, no problem, but 2009 can be sketchy. It's not.
I saw a few people add Naviks systems on here , but none specifically to the 2009 models.
I contacted Naviks via their website and ebay and they were prompt and helpful through both.
They advised there are 2 different screens and they have a module to fit both, i just popped out my screen and gave them the part number off the back.
I purchased the module for US$220, with shipping it came to about AU$390. It arrived in 5 days.
It installed easily, it's plug and play with the addition of power, ground and reverse trigger. There are heaps of videos out there. I bought an ebay camera that replaces a number plate light and wired into the reverse lights (there are videos on this too)
I bought a chrome-cast and wired in an extra USB socket to power it, and plugged it straight into the Naviks via the HDMI.  I ran the audio output RCAs from the Naviks under the center console and into the back of the console it then into the RCA aux inside the console.
The Naviks has a small extra button, about the size of a $2 coin. I popped that up next to the drivers knee under the start button, didn't need to stick it. It's almost invisible.
Anyway, it all works exactly as advertised. See video below

370z Spare Button in Center Console (between heated seats)
I searched and searched for some kind of button to go between the 2 heated seat buttons next to the cup holder and couldn't find anything.
That slot is reserved for the roof button on the convertible, so I was left with either using a heated seat button or a roof button.
After a lot more investigation, and seeing that a lot buttons are shared between different Nissan models, especially the 4x4s I came across a heap of buttons from aironboard.com.au.
I found a garage door button part no 1B86GOM , they have other designs (spotlights etc)  At $27 it's not the cheapest, but I though it wouldn't kill me if it didn't work.
    It worked, perfect factory fit.

However the led in the button is a yellow/amber

Pull button out, snip off the amber led, and solder on an orange one (50c from Jaycar)

    Boom perfect

How'd you go with getting a map update? I'm chasing one too.
Plenty of old threads but no one is around to lend a hand

Talking to a guy in China that supplies a plug and play android upgrade for touch screen systems.
It uses factory screen, controls, steering controls and touch screen. Adds google maps, YouTube, mp3, video and reverse camera.
He has them available for a lot of cars including late Nissan and Infinity. They are listed to work with 2012+ and I showed him pics of the 2009 interface and he was confident it would work also.
I questioned the 40 pin harness on the 2009 vs 32 pin on the 2010+ (his unit appears to have a 32 pin) and he is talking to his engineer.
Hopefully they can just wire the correct plugs and we're good to go.
    Price is about $320US

If that doesn't workout I'll probably go a naviks to add a reverse camera and use the aux for spotify

Also found a full tablet install dash bezel for around $1000, but is for non Nav cars, so you'd need to convert to non nav AC and add.
